2. What size do you need?

A single laser-dotted LIGHTPANEL panel runs from 2″ × 2″ up to 48″ × 118″, and each one is cut to spec, so a custom size needs no new tooling. Small standard panels may be injection-molded, which makes sense when volume justifies the tooling. Anything larger than 48″ × 118″ is tiled from several panels or built with a flexible LED sheet.

3. How much depth do you have?

Measure the cabinet or cavity first. Edge-lit panels are the slimmest option: typical laser-dotted panels are 4.5 to 8.0 mm thick, and even with a J-channel profile the total rarely exceeds 10 mm. Direct-lit systems need distance between the LEDs and the diffuser, typically at least 1/2 inch and sometimes 1 inch or more. If your cabinet is under 1 inch deep, an edge-lit panel is the better fit.

5. How can you judge build quality?

Ask every supplier three questions:
